| Description | This is another section of moat between the Ninomaru and Honmaru as taken from the Honmaru side. Notice in the middle where it is curved in. This is called yokoya gakari. It provides a good angle for flanking fire for anyone trying to cross the bridge over the moat from which this picture was taken. The moats at this point are much than they originally were. See the earlier picture of the bridge and gate for a better example of how deep the original moats were at this and other points. |
