History
Interestingly this castle was the base of the Kiyomizu Clan who were vassals of the Kiso Clan. The Kiso Clan came from another valley so maybe they were trying to make inroads into Ina Valley via the Kiyomizu. At anyrate the Kiyomizu were defeated by Takeda Shingen during his invasion of Ina and lost their bushi status, returning to farming.
Visit Notes
After Takagiuchi Castle I climbed to the site of Kiyomizujō. There aren't really any ruins. There is a forested patch next to a cemetery which used to be the fort's main enclosure and that's it. I found a golf ball though and began rolling it down empty stretches of country road for my amusement en route to the next site.
