Iwade-yashiki is the medieval fortified residence of Iwade Nawami who was born the fourth son of Takeda Nobumasa. He was killed during a raid at Kai-Katsuyamajō in 1508 by Takeda Nobutora for rebelling along with Aburakawa Nobue.
For more information see Yatsushiro Katsuyama Castle and Aburakawa Nobue Yashiki.
Iwade-yashiki is a medieval fortified residence site in an area of Yamanashi Municipality which was formerly part of the medieval Iwade Estate. It is now the site of homes and a small temple. There is some raised earth around the temple and between homes which is thought to be the remains of the dorui (earthen ramparts) that ran around the residence.
