History
Imamurajō was the fortified residence of Kamibayashi Tōkurō, a vassal of the Rokkaku Clan. It was constructed in 1568. In the village of Ima there used to be an elevated area which was the centre of the Kamibayashi Clan compound, but now no ruins remain, and the site is now fields. Place names like 'Oyashiki' are retained in the vicinity.
