History
It is supposed that Muraoka Castle was a satellite fortifcation of Koidejō. Both castle sites are located on a corner of cliff between the Tenryūgawa alluvial plain and a smaller river flowing into it. Koidejō, the main base of the Koide Clan, is set further back whilst Muraokajō overlooks the Tenryū River.
Visit Notes
Muraoka Castle is a clifftop castle ruin in the Ina Valley. It is now on private property, but I could make out some remains of dorui (earth-piled ramparts) from the roadside. I also tried to inspect these ramparts from below.
