Background

The plaster walls of the home and the ornate tile and plaster walls of the nagayamon gate make it one of the best examples of an original upper class samurai residence. The Nagayamon gate is the largest original nagayamon in Hagi. It houses a guard station, a stable and an extra room. The house also has a great location with the situated right on the river.
