Nosezakanishi Castle
[[||class=img-responsive]]
History
None. My source of information for Nosezakanishijō is Yogo-sensei, a castle blogger, but he says the history unknown. It wouldn’t surprise me – speculating – if the fort was used as a beacon tower by the Takeda Clan. It sits between the main Kai basin and a connecting valley. It may have been linked to Kōjin’yama-noroshidai which sits on a hill in the basin below.
Visit Notes
Nosezakanishijō is a yamajiro (mountaintop castle) site with earthworks ruins such as kuruwa (baileys) and horikiri (trenches). There are a few baileys, with the main bailey being at the top in the centre with indications of terracing below. Along the western ridge is a horikiri. Nosezakanishijō is a small site which can only be appreciated by yamajiro otaku.
