History

The Aoyama-yashiki was built on a slight terrace in a small valley by the Aoyama Clan in 1468. It was the fortified residence of Aoyama Tadayoshi. The yashiki may have later been replaced by nearby Jinnoyajō as the Aoyama’s main base in the early 16th century.

Visit Notes

The site of Aoyama-yashiki, located in Kashiyama Township, Okazaki Municipality, is now fields, orchards and some rural housing; no ruins remain.
