Bizenhara Yakata
From Jcastle.info
History
Bizenhara-yakata was the medieval fortified residence of Iwashita Bizennokami, a vassal of the Aida Clan. The Iwashita Clan would be destroyed during the Ogasawara Clan siege of Numatajō in November of 1582 after they crossed Aoki Pass into Chiisagata District.
Visit Notes
The site of Bizenhara-yakata on a plateau overlooking central Aida is now a huge poultry farm and there is no access for the public. I photographed the plateau from below. At one point I found a footpath up from Aida-juku but it ended in an impassable tangle of flora.
