History
The Yokoyamajō archaelogical site marks the ruins, now buried, of a Yayoi period fortification, according to the site marker. In a depression next to the lone marker indicating the site is a small river with rice paddies. These rice paddies could have been here for two millenia!
Visit Notes
Nothing remains to see of the fortification itself. I wouldn't have come here except it is right next to Akagi Kita Castle, the ruins of a medieval castle. It was interesting to ponder what the ancient site might've been like.
