Description This is the main keep as seen from inside the honmaru bailey. Compare this picture with the previous picture. The two outside faces of the main keep are much more ornate than the two inside. They also have square structures sticking out on the first and second floor with large kirizuma roofs. This makes the main keep look larger than it is. The windows on the outside are actually arrow slits (sama) which also helps to make it look bigger because these windows look small compared to the overall size. The windows on the inside are both large and plentiful to bring enough light into the main keep and compensate for the smaller windows on the other side.
When they rebuilt the main keep in 1810, they actually just renovated the Tatsumi Yagura into the main keep. Some people question whether it should even be called a main keep or tenshu.
