Photo Order 46
Description The Hi-no-ike pond, was used to collect rain water and runoff from the surrounding slopes. The unique design also allows for excess water to be channeled out through the bottom. In the restoration of this site they tried to recreate the original shape and the stone walls and floors around it have been kept in the original condition as much as possible. The water was used as drinking water and it is also thought that they performed ceremonies here for victory in battle.
