History

Kazama-yakata was the fortified manor house of the Kazama Clan. There were many branches of the clan but this is thought to have been their place of origin. There is a Kazama Shrine nearby and the area was formerly known as Kazama Village. Today the site of Kazama-yakata is a temple called Jōfukuji.
