This small fort, located along the approach to Komaki Castle and thus known as the Ôte Fort, is a cluster of small baileys and trench remains atop of a rocky outcropping overlooking the plain. At the base of Komakijō, at the start of the Onnazaka trail which one takes to reach the fort, are life-sized statues of the Sanada Jūyūshi ('Ten Braves of the Sanada'), characters from early 20th century fiction (in subsequent re-tellings they became ninja). This small park with the statues is quite out-of-the-way and I was surprised to come across it, but it is surrounded by factories and it seems that some industrialist put his fortune into making the park, which is nice!
