Murakamishishima Yakata

This site is probably the kyokan attached to Deurajō. Minamoto Morikiyo, the progenitor of the Murakami Clan, is said to have lived here when he first came to Shinano. The site was later used likely by the Izūra Clan and later generations of Murakami. See Deura Castle for more information.

Visit Notes

Murakamishishima-yakata is a fortified manor hall site in the shadow of Jizai-san / Iwaidō-san / Karakasayama / Death Mountain. Nothing remains. The site is that today of an old rural homestead.
