Oi Castle (Mikawa)
From Jcastle.info
History
Oijō was first built by Yoneźu Shirōwemon. But the castle was conquered and became part of the fiefdom of Ôinosuke Tadasada in the late 15th century. Itakura Yorishige became a vassal of Lord Tadasada and took up residence at Oijō; his grandson, Itakura Katsushige, was born here in 1545.
Visit Notes
No ruins remain of Oijō but there is a small stele commemorating it as the birthplace of Itakura Katsushige, a notable vassal of Tokugawa Ieyasu. I knew about this but I didn’t photograph it because the place just looked like somebody’s house! So I just went by.
