Ue Castle (Koka)

From Jcastle.info

The castle was likely a fortification of the Yamanaka clan. Unlike many other Koka Castles this was not based on a yakatajiro design. It was more like the fish scale design of Kuraji Castle. A large area was surrounded on 4 sides by embankments and trenches. Within this area individual living areas were further subdivided by a combination of trenches and embankments.

Visit Notes

Since this if a flat agricultural area most of the site has been developed over. See nearby Yamanaka Yashiki for the Yamanaka's main residence.
